Every year, the BUH Retreat brings together the Core Group to discuss the company’s current challenges, future goals, and strategic direction.
This year’s retreat was a three-day, two-night event held at the Marriott Hotel in Batam bringing together a total of 24 heads and leaders from the different projects, fostering collaboration and alignment on key initiatives across teams.
eLC staff gathered at the ferry terminal in two different batches.
After the two batches reunited in Batam, we headed to a nearby shopping mall for a delightful dinner at Kampoeng Mama. The evening continued with a visit to the hotel's rooftop, where everyone enjoyed stunning views, live music, and refreshing drinks—winding down the night in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

Day 2 began with the CEO William Chua’s Opening Address, setting the tone for the day. This was followed by a team bonding session (TETRA) led by special guest Dr. Varma. Through a series of engaging activities based on the Tetramap framework, participants gained deeper self-awareness, enabling them to collaborate more effectively within their teams. By understanding individual differences, we strengthened our communication skills and enhanced our working relationships.

The second half of the day was dedicated to in-depth Project B focus group discussions. Participants had the opportunity to share their opinions, viewpoints, and concerns, while facilitators provided valuable feedback and addressed key questions. Together, we reflected on past challenges and successes, gaining valuable insights into the company’s strategic direction for the future.

Day 3 began with a continuation of the focus group discussions, facilitated by Head of BD/PM, Kevin.
A special highlight was the lunch and tea breaks at the Marriott Hotel, which was a treat over the two days of discussions. The spread was so vast and plentiful, ensuring that everyone was well fed!

As Day 3’s discussions came to a close, we gathered for a group photo to commemorate the retreat. We then made our way home, recharged and ready to tackle work the next day. The retreat left us with valuable insights to reflect on, while also strengthening our team bonds and deepening our understanding of one another.
