Some members of eLC´s simulation team, consisting of Melvin Ovinis and Swiandy Chondro, flew to Germany on the 15th of August 2009 to the Munich office of Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH (KMW). The objective of this trip was to participate in the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of the driving simulators purchased by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF). The FAT was conducted by KMW for the SAF and the Defence Science & Technology Agency (DSTA).
The FAT was held from the 17th to the 20th of August 2009. During these 4 days, the team from eLC assisted KMW to conduct the various test procedures and to ensure the proper functioning of the systems. In the process, eLC was able to obtain an in-depth knowledge of the simulators.
"It was a wonderful experience to be able meet the KMW personnel face-to-face, as we have been corresponding through emails for quite some time", says Swiandy Chondro, Software Engineer.
As always, eLCians never forget to play as hard as they work. After the successful completion of the FAT, nothing could have been more fitting than a sumptuous dinner and few glasses of beer at the Augustiner Brewery, Munich. Prost! We also had the chance to tour some wonderful sights on the outskirts of Munich, thanks to our wonderful guides from KMW. Says Swiandy Chondro, "This is definitely a very wonderful, fruitful, and unforgettable experience for me. Besides learning so much from the hands-on experiences with our business partner, KMW, I was also able to experience this beautiful visit to the countryside of Munich. I am thinking of bringing my wife and child here for our next holiday plan!".
Overall, this trip was a very fruitful one and has certainly brought us closer in our business cooperation with KMW. This trip has also enhanced the already good understanding between eLC and KMW and bodes well for our future business collaboration.
