The annual Lectora eLearning Courseware Competition 2008/2009 organised by eLC is now in its fourth year running. Being the first of its kind in Singapore and the region, this event has attracted an increasing participation from schools, statutory boards, government ministries and multinational companies.
Co-sponsored by Trivantis (the makers of Lectora), the competition aims to showcase and recognise outstanding examples of eLearning courseware, and encourage the creation of good interactive web-based learning resources for the purpose of teaching and learning.
There are two award categories in the competition:
Open to all users of Lectora, more than 100 entries were submitted by over 20 different organisations. This year's entries continued to be of high quality, and consequently, a total of 20 awards were given out.
The Awards Ceremony was held on the 23rd January 2009 at the Singapore Marriott Hotel. Prior to the ceremony, an informal, carnival-like setting whereby games created using Lectora were showcased and guests could participate in these games and win prizes. Even school students were seen enjoying themselves, as they participated at the various game stalls and won for themselves some very good prizes.
