In line with one of MOE´s mp2´s intended outcomes - development of rich digital media content packages - MJC is embarking on developing and deploying their own "e" content with the use of Lectora.
Lectora is an easy to learn and easy to use eContent Authoring Tool. What we like about Lectora and the reason for MJC´s decision to purchase Lectora is due to Lectora´s ease of use, yet having all the necessary features of a full-fledged eLearning Content Authoring Tool. With Lectora, eLearning content creation can now be done by teachers, the subject matter experts, and no longer depending on external vendors.
MJC trained 22 staffs to be their IT champions. As feedback by a teacher, "Thank you for a useful session", the teachers found the software very user friendly and useful. The facilitators of the workshop were also praised for being "... very knowledgeable and being able to answer queries promptly and clearly".
Sherly Chiech, an eLC consultant commented on her experience facilitating at MJC. She said, "The teachers are very computer savvy and enthusiastic to learn new things."
Meridian JC will continue to enhance the teachers´ eLearning capabilities by introducing SwishMax, another easy to use tool to create animations. Training will commence in term 2 and the skills acquired will compliment the teachers´ use of Lectora, boosting the instructional value of the eContent they will be creating.
Jerald Loo, another eLC consultant, added, "Coursewares developed in Lectora empowers the teachers by maximizing and enriching their students´ eLearning experiences."
