Double Event Day

9th September 2011

On 9/9/2011, like the digits, double 9, eLC also had double happenings on the same day.

In the morning, eLC was invited by Mr Guna Segar to showcase Lectora Inspire's capabilities to academic sector particularly in Tamil content.

Going into the afternoon, eLC was also invited by the lovely folks over at Center of Teaching Excellence in Singapore Management University (SMU) to showcase eLC's unique learning solutions to faculties and other tertiary institutions in the academic sector.

World Tamil Conference

Mr Guna Segar, from Temasek Polytechnic invited the team at eLC to showcase how Lectora Inspire can support Tamil language in its publishing function.

Together with Mr Guna Segar, eLC occupied a booth that was overfilled with creative learning solutions such as 3D video technology and etc. Although the booth was not the biggest at the event, it was the busiest. Every school that participated was excited on how Lectora can support Tamil script.

Feedback from the teachers were that Tamil word processing software is few and expensive and they are difficult to convert to any form of eLearning. With Lectora Inspire, they have found the solution to their problems.

It generated so much hype that the Guest of Honour, our Education Minister Mr Heng Swee Keat, came over for a look. He was impressed and encouraged eLC to keep pushing our solutions and products to the Ministry.

As an effort to promote various innovations into the profession of teaching, SMU organised its first Teaching Innovation Week from September 6th to 9th, 2011. eLC was honoured to be invited to participate in this event as one of the exhibitors as well as the trainer.

Our participation kicks off with the Lectora Inspire training, conducted at the Li Ka Shing Library Training Room. With the theme "Creating eLearning Content with Lectora Inspire - Advance Level", the staff from eLC demonstrated to the participants methods of creating a VARK Scenario, and tracking the user's final score as well as determining his or her learning preferences.

On the final day of the event, staff from eLC showcased some elearning projects to the participants of the Pedagogy Fair. This event was held at the Reading Room of Li Ka Shing Library. In our exhibition area, we introduced the participants to the different types of courseware which were developed with Lectora on various display platforms, including laptop and mobile devices such as iPad, Samsung Gallaxy Tab and Motorola Xoom.
