eLC Exploratary Trips to China

(Shanghai 16th - 22nd September 2010 & Beijing 5th - 8th November 2010)

In this quarter, eLC made 2 trips to China to explore for future business opportunities and cutting edge R&D knowledge. The expedition started in September with the Shanghai World Expo 2010.

As the World Expo theme is about better city living; besides showcasing green technology, there are also showcases of smart technology like interactive communication, live wall and robotics. The 4-members strong team hopes to learn more about augmented reality from this significant event.

The team had learned much from the Information and Communication Pavilion, Finland Pavilion and Australia Pavilion. In the Information and Communication Pavilion, the team witness how mobile devices can communicate to a central server to create an immersive and interactive learning experience for people.

After the Shanghai Expo, eLC was honoured to be invited by Online-Edu, a non-profit organisation in China to attend the 2nd China eLearning Forum and Expo at Beijing International Hotel on the 5th of November. The expo aims to address current trends of eLearning technologies and strategies, and evaluate future and up-coming trends in the industry. William and Huey Chin were the only people who went for this maiden trip to Beijing.

On the second day of the event, eLC was also invited by the organising committee to present eLC´s wide range of services and products. Huey Chin did a short and simple presentation on our Survival COTS. Response to our segment was very encouraging. After Huey Chin finished his presentation, hordes of vendors swarm up to him for the exchange of contacts and discussed with him on future collaborations.

As usual, eLC always work hard and play hard. After all work has been completed, Huey Chin and William took the time to visit the Great Wall of China and Forbidden City. As the Chinese saying goes, "You are not a hero if you have never been to Great Wall of China", kudos to the guys who made the efforts to scale the Great Wall!
