eLC Co-CEO/CLO Benson Soong to take sabbatical at Cambridge University

27th September 2007

eLC co-founder and Co-CEO/CLO Benson Soong will be taking sabbatical leave to read for a PhD in Education at Cambridge University from October 2007 to July 2010. This study is partially funded by the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust.

"I think the timing is right for my sabbatical. eLC has been doing well for the past four years and our sales pipes are strong. Given the extensive business development efforts we have put in this past year, we expect revenue and growth to remain strong for the coming years. When I return, I hope to use the knowledge, expertise and network gained at Cambridge to assist in eLC´s growth, especially in the region," said Benson.

"Benson has always represented the scholastic and intellectual part of eLC, and to have him away for three years would require some adjustments. Nonetheless, he would continue to support the company via technological means (we web cam-ed the company for him)," said William Chua, Co-CEO. "We look forward to his return to the company (even if it´s during the holidays)."

Michelle Cheak, Senior Consultant, added, "Benson has always played the role of teacher and mentor for all of us. There is no doubt that we will miss him and his guidance."

From all of us at eLC, we will miss you...and despite your plea, continue to bug you
